Use this page when a motor record already has both a calculated current basis and an entered nameplate current. The calculator shows the ampere spread and percent difference so the current record can be reviewed before it moves into load, cable, starter or protection work.

The result is a comparison record. It does not replace manufacturer data, select a motor, select protection, set overloads or close project documentation.

Australian context

The page uses Australian 230/400 V, 50 Hz motor-circuit context, metric records and local project terminology. It names AS/NZS 3000 only as installation context and does not reproduce controlled standard tables or motor product data.

For imported equipment, replacement motors, VSD-fed motors, high-inertia loads and unusual duty, the nameplate comparison can be only one record in a wider review. Keep source documents close to the exported result.
